Nicholas Kjellgren-(b. 1966) American, received his BFA from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. He continued his training at the Art Students League before entering into an apprenticeship under Nelson Shanks. At the Ecole Albert Defoix in Passavant, France he studied at length, the strict French academic approach to the figurative genre. Mr. Kjellgren has received accolades for his pristine still life paintings that combine a "western" classicism with "eastern" sensibilities.
